Menopause Over Martinis*

In early 2019, I landed in a normal and inevitable stage of life I knew nothing about: perimenopause. As it turned out, not many of my friends knew much either.

To help make this topic less taboo, I invited eight friends and family from different generations to a potluck dinner and called it Menopause Over Martinis*. We each shared what we knew and wanted to know about menopause: the little-known facts; the surprising realities; the potential symptoms and the upsides too. It was an enlightening and empowering night but above all, it was fun.

On World Menopause Day 2020, I shared my personal experience publicly and launched my grassroots project to raise awareness of menopause at home, work and in the community. To join the revolution, check out my Facebook page and website, host a dinner at home or start a conversation in your workplace. You can even buy a tea towel to support the cause!
